The most important rule of the competition is that anyone can enter, shooting on any camera and most of all to have fun!!
The competition is open to anyone from all over the world. You must register to become a member of photocomp website to submit your entries to our competitions. Registration to photocomp is free. Entrants may upload as many images as they wish. Images must be submitted digitally by uploading via the online entry forms in the Enter the Competition section of this website. Files must be jpg, gif, jpeg or png only. Maximum file size is 1Meg. Images resolution must be at least 400 x 400 pixels. No space or any special characters on image file name. Please make sure you know where the image file are saved.
Images uploaded must be accompanied by the Image Title, Medium and Comments. Each entry will be displayed on the website with the entrants name, country location and date of submission. Entries that submit obviously fake names, street addresses, and email addresses, or contain inappropriate text and/or images will automatically be disqualified. Images that are unlawful or objectionable content: unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material will not be acceptable. Entrants are to submit materials which are their own original work. Entrants must not violate, plagiarise, or infringe the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, privacy, and publicity, personal or proprietary rights. It will be the responsibility of the photographer to gain the required permissions, allowing him/her to post images containing recognisable people on this website. All submissions will only be accepted on the understanding that the photographer agrees to Photocomp's terms and conditions and has obtained the required permissions.
Any entries found to have been manipulated using image editing techniques in order to create an illusion or deception through analog or digital means would be not be in contention for prizes.
Terms & Conditions for Uploading Photos to Photocomp
Before uploading a photo to our site, carefully read the following terms and conditions of use as well as the rules and how to enter.
Judging
The judges' decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
Public Viewing & Granting of Limited Rights
Be aware that, if approved for publication, your photo will be displayed to the
public. Your image may be included in the Photocomp annual yearly coffee book, in
the Gallery, or in other areas of the Web site.
By uploading, you are allowing Photocomp to publish the photo on our Web site. If we ever consider publishing your photo in any print media or on another Web site owned by Photocomp, we will contact you first for permission. At all time we will give you credit for your photo.
Copyright
Copyright of the image remains the property of the photographer. A photo credit
with copyright symbol will be provided under your image.
All images must be originals and must belong to the person uploading; all rights in the photo must be the property of the person uploading the photo.
Model Release
The photographer uploading any photo acknowledges that they have sufficient written
permission of any recognizable models or other persons appearing in the photograph
to be able to grant to Photocomp.com.au the right to publish their photographic
submission online and hereby grant to Photocomp.com.au such right.
Privacy Policy
Photocomp.com.au does not sell our Members' email addresses or personal information.
All information submitted to Photocomp.com.au is not to be sold or used in any way
that violates your right to privacy. Upon registration as a Photocomp member, email
addresses are collected for the purpose of answering questions and responding to
visitors. On the Photocomp website, authorship is attributed to a member by displaying
their name, their locale, as in "A from (Australia)."
Spam is never endorsed at Photocomp.com.au. Our email newsletters are sent to those who subscribe on a volunteer basis. We also provide numerous opportunities to unsubscribe from these emails, including opt-out links at the bottom of each newsletter.
Photocomp.com.au does not endorse or tolerate unsolicited sales emails through our automated contact forms. Individuals or companies may not email Photocomp members through our contact forms and members area.
When Photocomp contacts our own Photocomp customer base, it will not be considered unsolicited email.
Advertising
Photocomp may advertise anywhere on our site. Photocomp does not allow intrusive
advertising such as pop-ups or pop-under. Advertising may be found to match specific
images, titles, or descriptions. Photocomp reserves the right to change advertising
on the site at any time.
Additional Contest Rules
In addition to the terms and conditions above, contest entries must abide by the
following rules.
All entries must be received at the Photocomp Web site by the date and time as stated at http://www.photocomp.com.au. Entries must be submitted in digital form via the Web site; you can submit images taken with a digital camera or images taken with a film-based camera and scanned into a digital format. Mailed and emailed entries are not accepted. Photocomp will not be held responsible for mailed slides, negatives, or prints. Entrants are allowed multiple entrees but not the same photo. A Photocomp day is considered 12:01am to 12 midnight, Australian Eastern Standard Time. You may only enter a given photo once per the contest. You may only enter each given photo into a single category during the contest. No purchase is required but you must be a Photocomp member to enter (it's free to be a member). All entries are $10 AUD per entry and you must be a photocomp member to enter. Photocomp reserves the right to change any entry details.
Winning photos will be posted on the Web site shortly after the end of each contest. Winners will be shown in the Better Photography Magazine. All decisions of the judges are final. We will attempt to contact prize winners by email. If the winner does not respond to our email and claim the prize within 30 days, the prize will be forfeited. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state or local taxes, tariffs or import duty fees.
Photocomp reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value to the advertised prize should it become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control. All prizes are not redeemable for cash value.
Shipping costs are included will be paid for by Photocomp. Insurance costs are available but are the responsibility of the winner.

We provide Visitors and Authorized Customers with a mechanism to delete/deactivate Personally Identifiable Information from the Site's database by contacting privacy@photocomp.com.au However, because of backups and records of deletions, it may be impossible to delete a Visitor's entry without retaining some residual information. An individual who requests to have Personally Identifiable Information deactivated will have this information functionally deleted, and we will not sell, transfer, or use Personally Identifiable Information relating to that individual in any way moving forward.
